"you want to change the world, Evan. So do I." -- God

The past few weeks we've been watching Evan Almighty, the story of a guy who gets elected as a congressman, moves to Washington DC with his family, and then finds out that God wants him to build an ark. Now we're going to spend a few weeks talking about the movie and how we too can "Change the World" like Evan does. This past Sunday we talked about how Evan and his priorities change over time. We also talked about how God calls him to be like a prophet in the Bible, who tells people God's message even when it's unpleasant or sounds crazy. Stay tuned next week to finish our quiz about people in the Bible whom God called to do crazy things!

At the end of this study, we'll be doing a service project for the Sallie House. The Sallie House provides a safe place for children to stay when their families aren't able to take care of them anymore, and they're waiting to go into foster care. We'll be putting together backpacks, which the kids receive when they first arrive at the Sallie House. This will be a wonderful way for us to live out the message of Evan Almighty. At the end of the movie, God says to Evan, "How do you change the world?" and Evan says, "One single act of random kindness at a time."
